Color postcard of a freight train crossing a trestle bridge after exiting the Horseshoe Tunnel. The front of the postcard says "Freight train coming out of the Horseshoe Tunnel, near Scenic, on the Great Northern R. R., Wash." Postcard was published by Lowman & Hanford of Seattle and has a George Washington one cent stamp.

The postcard was sent from Malaga, Washington by a woman named Ella to her cousin Gladys Fraser in Long Beach, California on April 21, 1917. The postcard reads: Dear Cousin: How are you? We are all well except Mamma. She is sick in bed with an ulcerated tooth. She has been in bed all day. I have to stay home and do the work. Are you still going to school? With love to all from Ella.
