Description:
Metal first aid kit, painted brown, with white Northern Pacific Railway logo painted on the front. There is a label on the inside lid of the box giving instructions on how to perform various first aid procedures. The label also has the logo and manufacture's name of Medical Supply Co. of Rockford, Illinois.

The original contents of the first aid kit have been removed.

The piece is in excellent condition it has very little damage, almost no rust or paint loss and the paper label is intact and clean.

It is unclear when this kit dates from but it can be no later than 1970 when the company merged with Burlington Northern, from the look of the artifact it probably dates somewhere from the mid to later part of the 20th century.

First aid kits like this were kept handy to treat minor injuries received by rail crew and their passengers.
