Lantern, Railroad

Handlan tall globe lantern. Cap stamped Handlan St. Louis USA. The brim says MOPAC for Missouri Pacific Railroad. Not connected to the NW. The bottom of the lamp is stamped Handlan Patented 3–14–13/ 5–18–15/ 3–22/ 2–8–23/ 5–5–25/ 4–24–28/ 7–10–28 though the writing is partially ubsquered by a bolt put through the center of the lantern during a later electrical conversion. There is now a light fixture where the oil font would be and a hole was drilled through the side of the well for a power cable. The cage base is also warped but there is very little rust and the artifact is clean.
