Annie’s favorite artifact is Locomotive 1 because it used to be displayed at the Snoqualmie Depot where she spent a lot of her time growing up and is now a constant vibrant and imposingly high presence next to the desk in the Exhibit Hall.

Caitlin’s favorite artifact is the Kitchen Car because it is a wartime artifact focused on feeding and caring for people. It is also a rare example of a kitchen car that was never converted to a baggage car.

Ty’s favorite artifact is Locomotive 4012 because it got to travel overseas and spent time in West Germany. As a fan of European locomotives, it’s novel to see historic photos of 4012 with European couplings. It would be like seeing the Flying Scotsman with knuckle couplers.
