On June 19, the Northwest Railway Museum hosted a special edition of its Wine Train in honor of Juneteenth, the federal holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the United States. The event brought together history, hospitality, and heartfelt celebration aboard a moving tribute to freedom, resilience, and shared heritage.

Drum Roll Wines
For this occasion, the Museum was proud to partner with Drum Roll Wine, a Black-owned winery based in Renton, Washington. Their bold, expressive wines were served across two tasting stations—one inside the historic Snoqualmie Depot and the other in the Train Shed Exhibit Hall—offering passengers a flavorful journey that paired perfectly with the stories and scenery of the Snoqualmie Valley.
Guests began their experience at the Snoqualmie Depot with their first wine tasting before boarding the train for a scenic ride past Bridge 35 and through the valley. Upon arrival at the Train Shed Exhibit Hall, they enjoyed a second round of tastings alongside an elevated selection of food—including fresh fruits, cheeses, savory snacks, and sweets. The journey continued to Snoqualmie Falls before returning to the Depot, offering not just a train ride, but a reflection on history and community.
The Juneteenth Wine Train was more than a tasting—it was an opportunity to amplify voices, support local businesses, and create space for celebration and conversation. The Museum is especially grateful to the team at Drum Roll Wine for their partnership and presence during this event.
The Museum looks forward to growing this tradition in future years and continuing to honor the stories and people who shape our region—and our nation.
