Description:
Navy blue wool partially lined suit jacket with lightly padded shoulders made by Carlson & Co., Chicago. The suit has 4 external pockets lined pockets ( 2 on the left and two on the right) and 5 internal pockets, 4 are lined (2 on the left and 3 on the right). All the lined pockets are lined with an off white colored canvas material. On the front of the external left upper pocket there is a gold colored name plate engraved with the name J.H. Norvell On the front of the upper left internal pocket there are two labels sewn to the garment on says Carlson and Co./ 9 SO Clinton St./ Chicago and the other says Dry Clean Only. On the inside of the same pocket are sewn two labels one says Carlson and Co./ 9 S. Clinton Street/ Chicago/ Mr. John Norvell/ Date 11–12–73 No. 58859. The other is a tag for the union the Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America.
The suit also has 2 large gold colored buttons fastening the jacket. the buttons were manufactured in Connecticut by Waterbury Companies INC. The buttons are engraved with the Burlington Northern Logo. There are 2 smaller gold buttons at each cuff identical to the larger buttons and also made by Waterbury Companies. The cuff buttons are decorative only and do not function.
